De term personalisatie ligt al jarenlang bestorven in de mond van menig marketeer. Met een site-op-maat voor elke unieke bezoeker liggen gouden bergen in het verschiet. Een gepersonaliseerde site kan je op twee manieren bereiken. ‘Automatisch’ zoals Amazon, met behulp van slimme databases (en marketeers) die ondermeer klikgedrag en bekend productbezit analyseren. Maar je kan het je bezoeker ook zelf laten doen, zoals bijvoorbeeld KPNVandaag. Dat laatste zal vaak goedkoper te realiseren zijn, maar kan heel wat (usability) hoofdbrekens opleveren.
